We are a nude food school – students leave food packaging at home and instead bring their lunch in a reusable container.

We are a proud nude food school. fruit_group.png

This means that we ask that students to bring no food in packaging to school.

There are no garbage bins at our school, so lunch wrappers and any rubbish brought in must go home.

We are a health promoting school and encourage families to make healthy choices for their lunchboxes. We encourage students to bring fruit, vegetables and water bottles in their lunch boxes every day.

Chips, confectionery, fried foods and high sugar drinks such as soft drinks, energy drinks and flavoured mineral waters are not to be brought to school by children for eating at play/lunch time.

At all grade levels, a ‘healthy snack’ break occurs daily. Children are only allowed to eat fruit, vegetables and drink water at this time.

Any food scraps are composted to feed our hungry worms or go into general compost for the garden.

We encourage our families to use durable, reusable lunch boxes and containers as they may last from kinder through to high school and beyond, save money and the environment.

***Nuts are known as a severe allergen. Unlike other allergens, sufferers can suffer a reaction through being in close proximity to nuts (e.g. smell or skin contact) without the need to ingest nuts. So as to minimise risk, as far as practicable, to the school community, we encourage that no nuts be brought on to school grounds during normal school hours, or on school excursions or camps.
