This week we are celebrating the first two students in the school to receive 20 Care Crow Cards. The achievements of Aurora A.F and Maeve were announced at Monday’s assembly, and they have each received a certificate. They are also entitled to select a reward acknowledging their individual achievement.
A new Behaviour flow chart is attached to this newsletter. It outlines minor and major problem behaviour and what processes are implemented when those problem behaviours occur. Every classroom has a copy of the chart and teachers have been having conversations with their class about the processes we will implement.

GRANDPARENTS’ AND SPECIAL FRIENDS’ DAY
It was lovely to welcome grandparents and friends on Friday. The children in Prep and Year 1 had a wonderful time hosting this event. We were also very grateful for the generous donations of books for the school library. This has become a wonderful tradition and is greatly appreciated by students and teachers alike.
.

.
NUDE FOOD – SUSTAINABILITY PRIORITY
Please help eliminate plastic wrappers at our school by continuing to send nude food in lunch boxes. We do not have general waste bins in the playground, and we are trying to reduce, re-use and recycle, as a school which promotes sustainability.
.
BOTTLES TO THE CHEWTON SERVO
Take your bottles marked 10c refund to the Chewton service station. You can nominate Winters Flat PS to receive the cash. The container deposit scheme is a great initiative and supports our sustainability priorities as well as cash for the school.
.
BREAKFAST CLUB – WE STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS
The food is provided – it’s just a matter of being available to serve the children who come to the kitchen. Times will ideally be 8:15am – 8:45am on a day that suits you. Please let us know if you can spare some time

VOLUNTEERS

Chefs of the week:
Kitchen volunteers:
We would love some kitchen helpers in our cooking classes!
They are held fortnightly on Mondays (even weeks - 4/5/6C), and every Wednesday (even weeks - 4/5/6B; odd weeks - 2/3H), between 11:25am & 1:25pm.
The Prep/1 classes will have a special cooking class each term.
Kitchen helpers for these classes would be particularly helpful - please let the office know if you'd like to volunteer!
.
What you can expect from a class:
Students work in groups to make seasonal dishes, using produce from our garden. Once a group finishes preparing their dish, they clean up their bench, do dishes, and set the tables. Around 1:00pm, we all sit down together and share the meal.
Volunteers will need to sign in via the visitors log in the office and show their WWCC. Please contact the office if you have any questions or would like to volunteer!
